Abstract

Papers presented: Stressed Out : How Physiological Stress Effects the Heart by Jarely Michelle Mejia, Jessica Arroyo, and Ola-Olu Marie Olaleye

This paper explores the effects and links between the deterioration of the cardiovascular system and heart disease due to physiological stress. Furthermore, this document will divulge into the links between high blood pressure (hypertension) and physiological stress as well as obesity and cholesterol levels. This paper examines works from many well respected experimenters and cardiologists. Furthermore, this paper will expose and unravel how acute stress can and will build up over one's life and lead to cardiovascular issues. In addition, this article will explain the difference between eustress and distress and their effects on the cardiovascular system. This paper will also include the ways modern healthcare affects the heart and surrounding organs. In the same way, this paper will illustrate the effects and links between physiological stressors (acute and chronic) on the heart and heart disease, while bringing awareness to the topic of stress and create ways to prevent/cope with stress.

Each type allows for different symptoms, prognosis, and treatment, therefore it is pertinent to understand the distinction. Researchers conclude that the main difference between type one and type two is type one is an autoimmune disease. The pancreas is a vital organ that produces insulin to break down sugars for the body. Diabetes creates complications with the production of insulin in the pancreas, thus leaving patient’s blood sugars dangerously unpredictable. This essay will also include the importance of healthcare communication and delivery between patient and healthcare provider. It's important to provide the patient with information about their rights as well as information about their illness. This includes treatment, prognosis, nutrition, changes in lifestyle. Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects a person for the rest of their life when first diagnosed the healthcare provider should be empathetic and treat the patient with respect. Healthcare providers must provide time for grieving if needed, for the betterment of patient care.
