Description

Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A dark blue spot on the floor reads: “The dominant theme for me in Seattle was depression. I was not used to the overcast skies, constant rain, and dark days.” A white spot on the floor reads: “I did wind up with a motorcycle in Seattle. A friend of mine let me trade my kicking bag for it. It was in several pieces in Spokane so we drove out to get it. We actually packed it into a Subaru Outback in pieces. I couldn’t believe it fit! I got a lot of joy out of that motorcycle: a Honda CB550K. It was a cool looking bike with dual exhaust pipes. Seattle as a city is not a great place for riding with all the hills and blind corners and wet roads, but it was something that brought me joy in a city that was causing me such gloom.”
