Composition has always been in a state of of flux. "Forgotten Things" allows composition instructors to consider the old paradigms and the new.
Call for proposals for the 2025 Trends Conference.
Potential Topics include:
- Embracing the Old
- Pedagogical Strategies
- Preventing Plagiarism
- Integrating the New with the Old
- Helping Student Develop Soft Skills
Deadline for Submission: June 30, 2025
This one day conference will be hosted by Collin College at the Frisco Campus location. Committee members encourage faculty from two-year and four-year schools to share their expertise presenting a panel or an interactive, collaborative, or teaching demonstration.
Presentation time: 45-minute sessions and 15-20 minute sessions

On Trend Paper Award
Trends in Teaching College Composition is pleased to introduce the “On Trend” award for the best paper presented at the annual conference.
Paper Award Application Guidelines
- Papers must be accepted to the conference in order to be eligible for an award.
- Those applying for awards must register and pay to attend the conference and must present their papers at the conference in order to receive the award, if chosen.
Application Instructions
- Paper submissions should be sent to ASwann@Collin.edu no later than September 15, 2025.
Your paper must be:
- 10–15 pages (including notes and references)
- Use a standard citation style (MLA, Chicago, or APA)
- Attached as a PDF
