Description
Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A white spot (left) on the floor reads: “My Civic was filled to the max with just about everything I owned to take to Seattle. With the seats down in the back it (he) could carry so much. I never had any complaints of trouble with this car, and have been a loyal believer in the brand ever since. Dissecting a similar car has felt like performing an autopsy on an old friend. I have and currently drive another version of this car, so this one has donated its body to science and is helping me to understand how it is put together and how it works. I have always loved cars, this is not out of character for me. A green spot (right) on the floor reads: “It is important to be alone with yourself and learn to be comfortable in your own company. This can be done by living alone, going to eat and going to movies alone, traveling alone, and going on long drives. You have to learn to rely on yourself. You have to challenge yourself to learn new things and attempt tasks that scare you. Have you ever changed your own oil? Have you tried rotating your tires? what about simply changing your engine and cabin air filters? There’s a youtube video for everything these days. It’s partially how I managed to get this car in pieces. I also have good friends to call or the shop manual when I’m stuck. But this is a life lesson that I’ve learned can be applied to all things. And it takes practice. And it takes insight to know when you need to ask for help when you’re struggling with something internally or externally. It make take years to solve a problem, but knowing yourself can help you decide when it’s time to reach out to someone.”
