Description
Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A red spot on the floor reads: “I talked my friend David into coming with me to Boeing Surplus, the biggest weirdest thrift experience I’ve ever known. I bought a bookshelf that I was certain would fit in Rio, my Civic, but David was dubious. Well, we got to the car and had to do quite a bit of engineering to get it to fit, and poor David had to suffer the drive home shaped like a pretzel.” A dark blue spot on the floor reads: “Since I can remember, I have always preferred hobbies and activities that are typically reserved for boys rather that girls. There are some exceptions but I was a daddy’s girl and liked to do the things he did. My interest in cars, guns, archery, martial arts, and motorcycles came from watching him and participating in and work on these things. Art and creativity seems to run in the family too. Some things nature, some things nurture.”
