Director's Notes: "The Skin of Our Teeth” was written in 1942, when America was enmeshed in a world war and the future of mankind was under attack. Seventy-five years later, current events might cause us to wonder, “Will it ever end?” When the play was produced in post-war Europe, its message inspired audiences to rebuild after the devastation. Today its message is both comforting and cautionary.
